Ways to Save Environment and Go Green

We all want to protect our planet, but we lack efforts. Go Green India aims to bring the attention of people with collected information and promote the contribution by others. You are required to put as many efforts you can in eco friendly projects in India and Earth Care if you want to see a better tomorrow for the coming generations. These are some simple habits to implement in your everyday life which will make a difference.  There is nothing new here but if you follow at least some of these tips on how to go green, you can be proud of yourself participating in the protection of the environment, synchronized with ideas for Go Green in India.

Saving Energy - Install compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) in place of your older incandescent bulbs. They last much longer and they can save energy and in the long term your electricity bill would be reduced. When not using the electrical appliances, turn them off and unplug them. This prohibits them from sucking extra juice while the device is off.

Saving Water - Stop wasting water by turning taps off while not in use. Try not to use water more than needed. Watch out for leaky faucets, they not only are a waste of a valuable resource but also will cost you a dime more. Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible. As much as 85 percent of the energy used to machine-wash clothes goes to heating the water.  Use different methods for rain water harvesting. The water saved through it can be used in other things.

Reduce Vehicular Pollution - If the distance is not much, like less than 500 meters, don’t use any vehicle to go around. Instead go on foot and reduce pollution.

Plant a tree- Trees clean our air and create oxygen. This is a great way to compensate for the pollution of our environment.

Saving Environment – What is Happening

With the entire goings around environmental sphere, scientists predicted in the past that there would be effects which would result from global climate change and they are now occurring in terms of loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves. The climate change impact due to global warming in India is the increase in number of people suffering from death, disease and injury from heat waves, floods, storms and droughts.

Talking about prominent names in this field, Green Across India is one which is known for spreading information about current status of the Indian environment and promoting eco-friendly projects in India. For this purpose, it has taken wild & wacky initiatives and spreading the awareness regarding environmental hazards and the ways to mitigate them across SAARC nations especially India. If we take action to radically reduce greenhouse gas emissions now, there’s a good chance that we can limit average global temperature rises and climate change adaption rate would increase as a result. This doesn’t mean that there will be no more changes in the climate – warming is already happening – but we could limit, adapt to and manage these changes.

It all depends on how we use natural resources affects our health and health of our communities. Because everyone uses these sources, we all have some part to play in protecting, preserving and sharing these resources. One efficient and acclaimed way is through eco-friendly projects and restores all these valuable resources offered by Earth so that we can save all the living beings at risk. @ http://www.gogreenindia.co.in/

Working towards a better Ecosystem

Natural resource management is a discipline in the management of natural resources such as land, water, soil, plants and animals, with a particular focus on how management affects the quality of life for both present and future generations. Management of natural resources involves identifying who has the right to use the resources and who does not for defining the boundaries of the resource. The resources are managed by the users according to the rules governing of when and how the resource is used depending on local condition with the aim of protection of natural resources.

The problems occurring due to misuse of the natural resources cause turbulence in the ecosystem. Various issues start rising like small increases in the planet’s temperature that lead to big, permanent changes in the climate. Not only human beings but the wild and wacky wildlife is also dependent on these changes of environment. This makes preservation of the natural environment essential, for maintaining community sustainability. There is no room for any more delays or procrastination with respect to efforts in this direction. Caring for the planet and making it a better place to live in should be the prime motto of everyone who wants to have a sustainable future filled with abundant natural resources for their consumption. Don’t wait for the last tree to die and the last river to get poisoned, act now and save the planet.

Environmental protection and preservation of the planet is the responsibility of every individual and community on Earth and Go Green is spreading the awareness across SAARC nations including India suggesting ideas on how to protect land, water, soil etc resources. Go Green in association with Earth Care Awards praises the efforts of people, organizations and eco-friendly projects in India working towards saving the environment. If you share any of the environmental concerns, you must take action to reduce your personal and household impact on the planet, educate other members of your community on environmental issues and ultimately Save Environment.

Saving the Environment, Saving the Lives

When the world is getting warmer and more polluted with each passing day, going green is not merely an option but a necessity. There is a humongous dearth of natural resources which is in turn, creating a major environmental balance. We are left with no choice other than opting for wild and wacky ideas for going green and saving the environment. A lot can be done by making just a few changes in lifestyle and also by adopting measures that are environmental friendly.

Not only the government but common man also has to come up with initiatives and proposals that pay impetus to the degrading environment. SAARC India’s one such initiative Go Green is concentrating on bringing the environment back to its shape with lowered levels of pollution and other degradations. Why is it necessary to pay attention towards saving the environment? Keep reading.

Safeguarding of the natural environment is indispensable for maintaining community sustainability. Adequate water supplies of high superiority are obligatory both for community use and local ecosystems. Communities and jurisdictions must toil together to guarantee an ample water supply to meet future needs. Nonrenewable sources for power generation cause pollution and its harmful impacts. Energy conservation and the use of renewable fuels provide lucrative and more sustainable alternatives. Both the natural ecological unit and human wellbeing can be adversely impacted by waning air quality and climatic change.

Communities can preserve air quality by limiting or eliminating the ejection of detrimental chemicals into the air and by minimizing the sources of air pollution. Biodiversity is predominantly vital for creating sustainability because of the specialized roles each species plays in maintaining ecological equilibrium. Communities can promote healthy wildlife by supporting integrative approaches for managing, shielding, and enhancing wildlife populations and habitats appropriate to their area. In the conclusion of thoughts, it can be said that you are required to put as many efforts you can in Earth Care if you want to see a better tomorrow for the coming generations.

Natural Resources Conservation- You Can Do It!

Resources are features of the environment that are imperative to a human in one form or the other. On the contrary, the progression of modern civilization has had a great blow on our planet's natural resources and has also resulted in adverse environmental and climate change. As a result, conservation and protection of natural resources are essential at the moment. There are many ways that one can conserve the natural assets. For conservation of resources like natural gas, the use of another energy source, for example, hydro, solar or wind power can be promoted and practices in various walks of life. These energy sources do not emit or produce harmful gases or toxins into our environment like that of the burning fossil fuels and also, these sources of energy are renewable as well as are not that easy to deplete. There are also various ways to conserve natural resources like trees and forests. It can be conserved through the recycling process.

Most of the products used by the mankind have at least some part of a tree in it. By simply just
recycling these products, one can make a huge difference. For instance, recycling paper, and paper products, you can save many trees from being cut. Various climate change conventions have time and again stressed on the importance of trees and forest covers and the impact caused by the dearth of trees on the climate and environment on the whole. Just like other natural resources, fossil fuels are depleting with each passing day. With the advancement in science and technology, there are many ways to conserve fossil fuels. From hybrid cars to vehicles running on electricity, everything is now available. Saving the natural resources is our responsibility and it will definitely give us a fruitful future.

Survive an Earthquake

A little knowledge and a few precautionary measures can enormously increase your chances of surviving an earthquake.  The keys are education and preparing in advance. Here are a few tips that will help you survive an earthquake that are very prominent in SAARC countries especially in India.

Earth Care- Before the Earthquake:

Stock up on emergency supplies like batteries, flashlights, first aid kit, bottled water, two weeks food and medical supplies, blankets, cooking fuel, tools needed to turn off your gas, water and electric utilities.
Arrange your home for safety: Store heavy objects on lower shelves and store breakable objects in cabinets with latched doors. Don't hang heavy mirrors or pictures above where people frequently sit or sleep.
Store flammable liquids away from potential ignition sources such as water heaters, stoves and furnaces.
Learn where the main turn-offs are for your water, gas and electricity. Know how to turn them off and the location of any needed tools.

During the Earthquake:

If you are indoors, stay there. Quickly move to a safe location in the room such as under a strong desk, a strong table, or along an interior wall. The goal is to protect you from falling objects and be located near the structural strong points of the room. Avoid taking cover near windows, large mirrors, hanging objects, heavy furniture, heavy appliances or fireplaces.
If you are outdoors, move to an open area where falling objects are unlikely to strike you. Move away from buildings, power lines and trees.
If you are driving, slow down smoothly and stop on the side of the road. Avoid stopping on or under bridges and overpasses or under power lines, trees and large signs. Stay in your car.

After the Earthquake:

Check for injuries; attend to injuries if needed.
Check for damage. If your building is badly damaged you should leave it until it has been inspected by a safety professional.
If you smell or hear a gas leak, get everyone outside and open windows and doors. Do not use any electrical appliances because a tiny spark could ignite the gas.
If the power is out, unplug major appliances to prevent possible damage when the power is turned back on.

Sometimes natural calamities are caused due to human activities. Think of how to make good measures for the welfare of the Earth and do your bit!

Current Environmental Issues

It is high time for human beings to go green and take initiatives towards saving the earth from major environmental issues. If ignored today, these ill effects are sure to curb human existence in the near future. Engineering developments are resulting in resource depletion and environmental change and climate change destruction.
Here are 10 significant current environmental issues, where human beings play an important role in its cause.

1. Pollution:   Pollution is not only limited to water, soil and noise but has extended to light, visual, point and non-point sources. Human beings and their actions are majorly responsible for causing all wild and wacky types of pollution.

2. Climate Change:  Climate change is rapidly occurring due to the ill effects of human actions responsible for disturbing and harmful out comings such as global warming, greenhouse effect, etc. Some of these include melting of Polar Regions, occurrence of new diseases and permanent inhibition in growth of certain plants essential for human survival.

3. Global Warming:  This is is another environmental issue which is - increase in earth’s temperature due to the effect of greenhouse gases. Without these gases, this planet would turn be cold for life to exist. Global warming can have long-lasting effects which can result in melting of glaciers, climate change, droughts, and diseases.

4. Deforestation:  Deforestation means, clearing of forests for means of agriculture, industrial or urban use.  It involves the permanent end of forest cover to make that land available for the residential, commercial or industrial purpose.

The long-term effects of deforestation are devastating as they may cause floods, soil erosion, an increase in global warming, wildlife extinction etc.

5. Overpopulation:  This is a never-ending human tragedy which is responsible for causing all types of environmental issues. Despite efforts taken by the government. overpopulation is difficult to control at international level.

6. Industrial and Household Waste:  The presence of huge landfills sites across the city pose serious environmental concerns. It affects human health, degrades soil quality, effects wildlife etc.

7. Acid Rain:   Acid rain can occur in the form of rain, snow, fog. Acid rain may cause due to erupting volcanoes, rotting vegetation, bacterial decomposition and lightening generate nitrogen dioxide.

8. Ozone Layer Depletion:   The main cause of depletion of ozone layer is determined as excessive release chlorofluorocarbons. CFCs are found to have a direct impact on the depletion of the ozone layer.

9. Genetic Engineering:  Genetic modification of food, human and animal organs seems like the gem of science and technology but has major harmful effects.

10. Urban Sprawl:   Today almost all countries are using the land irresponsibly to meet the ever-growing demand of the greedy human wishes. A natural environment consisting of flora and fauna is indiscriminately destructed and lost completely instead of being replaced. http://www.gogreenindia.co.in/acrossindia/
